Museum Hopping in Amsterdam

Rjiksmuseum

If there’s one thing you need to know about Amsterdam, it’s that this city has an abundance of museums. I really mean it when I say there is a museum for EVERYTHING. From Bags & Purses to Microbes to Tulips! If I could’ve stayed a little longer I for sure, would’ve gone to more museums or at least spent extra time in the ones that I liked, though I’d say a good amount of the 3 days was spent in museums anyway:)

EYE

EYE Film Museum

I spotted this book in the gift shop and instantly fell in love with it😍😍 Isle of Dogs directed by Wes Anderson is just an amazing film and stop-motion animation is super cool. The only thing holding me back was the size of this thing and how I’m an over packer as it is. However, I did leave the store with a Walter White coaster & a mini windup music player

Museumplein (Museum Square)

This quarter of Holland, located in Leidseplein, holds the most iconic museums of Amsterdam: Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk and the Van Gogh Museum. Unfortunately, we only got to see one of the three. Wellll there’s one more reason to go back!

Stedelijk

We bought passes earlier in the morning and after a long day of walking in the cold, finally went back to explore Amsterdam’s Museum of Modern & Contemporary art

The next I’m in Amsterdam I’ll be sure visit these museums…I would recommend you guys go here too:

  • Van Gogh Museum
  • Rijksmuseum
  • Rembrandt House
  • Moco Museum (an excellent Banksy exhibition in December of 2019)
  • NEMO Science Museum
  • Micropia
  • …and the list goes on…
